The look and functionality
of the adjacent dining space
was enhanced through the
addition of glass doors leading
to the deck, and by a bump-out
that added 40 square feet.
“We also tried to clean up
the entry so you could see out
to the lake from there, and
raised that ceiling to define
the space,” Kemper said.
Daigle said for most of the house,
“maximizing the view of the lake
was an important consideration.”
One room over, several small
walls were taken down in the
kitchen to open up the space, the
ceilings were raised, and high-end
appliances and finishes were added.
Downstairs, a ‘70s-style media
roomwith a barrel vaulted
acoustic tile ceiling was given a
21st Century makeover. The area
now blends with the natural
wood-and-stone motif in the
rest of the house. On one side of
the lower level is a beautifully

across a wooden footbridge from the main house, has been
refurbished and given a similar look and feel. It features a beautiful
stone fireplace and plenty of windows offering views of the lake.
